Getting To Salisbury

Salisbury is well connected and easy to reach by both road and rail.

By Rail

Salisbury is on the main South West line from Exeter to London. Trains to and from London Waterloo are usually every 30 minutes and take just under 90 minutes to get here. From the west of England trains are available from Exeter and Bristol. If you are travelling from the north you may want to consider a change at Basingstoke as several Virgin trains services travel through there.

By Road

From London the best Way to Salisbury is the M3, taking the A303 and then following signs to Salisbury, from the M3/M25 Junction it takes a little over an hour on clear roads. From Brighton the A27, M27, A36 is the easiest route. For those coming from the West the A303 is advised, or if coming from the North, aim for the A303 from the M1 via the A43 and M11.

By Plane

For those with longer journeys or short on time you may wish to consider Southampton Airport, which is easy to reach from Salisbury by train, or a 30 minute drive. Car hire facilities are available from the Airport - Enterprise car hire are said to offer very reasonable weekend hire especially when booked in advance from their website. Airlines operating from Southampton include Flybe and Scot Air.

How to find us once you've arrived

Salisbury Arts Centre is housed in the St Edmunds Church building on Bedwin Street, a short walk from the Market Square.

Parking

Parking is available in College Street Car park (adjacent to the arts centre) and in Salt Lane. Car parks are free after 6pm.

Disabled parking is available for blue badge holders at the rear of the Arts Centre building, and can be reached by following the driveway from Bedwin Street.

By Bus

The bus station is situated on Rollestone Street, a five minute walk away from the arts centre. The station is served by Wilts and Dorset buses. For routes and timetables please click here.

By train

Salisbury Railway Station is situated on Fisherton Street, and is a 20 minute walk away from the Arts Centre. A taxi rank can be found at the entrance and busses to the city centre leave from a short distance away.
